About Us
Terradon Embroidery has been in business since 1997.
Terri
Terri’s artistic talents were recognized as a young child and she took many art classes growing up. She went on to major in Graphic Design in college. This was back before computer graphics became available and one had to know how to draw, paint and create work by hand. Her major changed to something more practical but she never lost her creative focus. She has sewn and embroidered since junior high school and especially enjoys adding her own touch to garments with decorative stitches and appliqué. She loves to craft and enjoys photography, painting, quilting, knitting and making beaded jewelry. Her artistic talents helped her embrace the art of embroidery digitizing and she immersed herself in learning all she could about creating machine embroidery designs. She started with PE Design and progressed to using Melco’s top of the line digitizing software Design Shop Pro. She has become successful doing commercial digitizing for clients all over the country. She creates hundreds of designs per year for embroidery shops. Her clients value her artistic interpretation and her ability to offer valuable advice on communicating with their customers. She is able to digitize from photographs, sketches and other artwork creating beautiful, efficient and professional designs that consistently meet her customer’s high expectations. She has taken many classes on the art of digitizing from some of the best instructors in the business, including Thomas Moore. She is constantly striving to perfect the art of digitizing and learns with every design. She has mastered many of the technical aspects of digitizing and continues to read and take classes whenever possible.
Terri is a cancer survivor. In 1999, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy and recovery provided her with a new perspective. She now realizes that every day is a gift to be lived to the fullest.
Don
Don developed a fascination with learning how things worked at a very young age. To this day, he still has to dig in and figure out the "whys" behind the "hows".
Disabled with a rare liver disease, he was determined to help Terri realize her artistic goals. Soon, he was as fascinated by embroidery as she was and he set out to learn everything he could. Don concentrates on the technical while Terri concentrates on the artistic.
Don is active on several embroidery email lists for both hobbyists and pros. He is recognized as one who can answer the simple or complex questions in a way that can be understood by both the beginner and the more experienced.
Our Equipment
"In the beginning..." We started with a Brother 8500 home embroidery machine and PE Design 2.0 digitizing software.
From those humble beginnings, we soon wanted greater precision and capabilities. We made the committment to upgrade to high quality equipment and software. Today we use an SWF 1201 shown above and always upgrade to the latest Melco Design Shop Pro Plus embroidery digitizing software.
